Rykee Consulting - Part-time Chief Financial Officer
All businesses, large or small, need the capabilities of a CFO. In smaller businesses, this role is typically assumed by the owner with assistance from his or her bookkeeper and accountant. As these folks have other responsibilities and do not have the experience levels required, most owners do not have the kind of critical information they need, when they need it to make informed decisions and to prioritize their business goals.
That's where we come in. We can answer these and other critical questions in your business. We also help solve any problems we may discover in the process. The Part-time CFO Process
Phase I Diagnostic Assessment
This is our initial consultation and is at no cost to our client. Typically lasting 1 to 2 days, the objective of this phase is to identify critical concerns of the client, determine current the firm's current financial condition, goals and management reporting capabilities. Critical staff are interviewed. As sensitive internal information will be discussed, we provide all of our clients with a non-disclosure agreement. As a result of the assessment, a comprehensive project plan identifying project objectives, timing and cost is prepared.
Phase II Baseline
This is the "clean up" phase of the project. Comprehensive management reporting is implemented, staff is trained in the development of the reporting package and management is educated in how to use the system. We will meet with outside parties such as your accountant, banker, etc. to discuss the new financial reporting and controls.
Phase III Strategic Plan Development
Now that we know where you are, we will determine where you want to go. It may be a cliche, but the old saying "fail to plan, plan to fail" is true. In this phase, we will collaboratively work with you and your management team to identify best case, worst case and most likely scenarios for your business in the next three years, key strategic initiatives and obstacles, target revenues and profit margins, key performance indicators and quarterly initiatives in pursuit of your goals. Key players in your firm will be brought into the process to ensure that they feel ownership in the strategy and understand their roles.
Phase IV Plan Maintenance
The final phase of our process is designed to ensure that your goals are realized. We will meet with you and your management team on a regular basis to review where your business is in relation to your plan, identify new opportunities and barriers to success and determine short term initiatives to address plan goals.
